First, the Forever Marilyn misstep and now no 4th of July fireworks.  I’m starting to wonder about the wisdom of our Palm Springs City Council… However, there are a few good signs on the horizon as it appears VillageFest will return on July 1st and that turning Oscar’s “Tea Dance” floor and bar into a hotel pool has been turned down.
We’re excited to have the GayDesertGuide Fun & Games Dept. hosting “An Evening on the Lanai: Remembering the Golden Girls” on Thursday, May 27th.  Stan Zimmerman, who wrote season one, will be joined by Alexander Rodriguez from “On the Rocks Radio”  at Oscar’s and tickets are selling fast!
Cathedral City’s Gay Business Association is planning a Pride month celebration and we’ll have all the details here.  Palm Springs Pride is inching forward with plans for November.  Can we pack any more into those two weeks spanning the end of October and beginning of November??? Desert AIDS Walk has now moved their event to October 30th, the same weekend as Leather Pride and White Party.  Jeff Hocker tells me that “Halloween on Arenas” is being planned as well.

Under the State guidance, applicable in the city, for fully vaccinated persons, face coverings are not required outdoors except when attending crowded outdoor events, such as live performances, parades, fairs, festivals, sports, events, or other similar settings. “Midnight at the Never Get”

Christian-Douglas-and-Sam-BolenOur theatre reviewer Stephen Radosh has a new review out, and it’s a glowing one! “Midnight at the Never Get” is a musical love story between two men set in 1965, presented as streaming performance by The Signature Theatre. Radosh writes: “within minutes you are swept off your feet and madly in love with what you are watching.” It’s so good he watched it twice! Read the full review [here].
